2000 Make A Wish Charity Match

It has become an annual tradition for Central Texas IPSC shooters to run a charity match for the Make A Wish Foundation. The match was renamed the Shirley Skinner Classic, to honor our friend and fellow competitor who lost her own battle with cancer in 1998. Shirley gave a lot to the shooting community, both personally and as co-owner of STI, and we all miss her. This year the Central Texas IPSC community lost another member to cancer, Austin IPSC shooter Marshall Frazer.

This year's match attracted over 150 competitors and raised over $30,000 for Make A Wish, topping last year's record $18,000 donation.

Michael and Cheryl Leck deserve special credit for organizing the match and designing most of the courses again this year. The competitors at this year's match included USPSA officials Michael Voigt and Dave Thomas.

Paul Batten received this year's 'unsung hero' award.

A major rainstorm flooded the range after Saturday night's banquet, forcing the Sunday shooting to be cancelled.

The match photos below are mostly of the KR Training squad.
