KR TRAINING JUNE 2016 NEWS

2016 SUMMER AND FALL CLASSES

The latest schedule is here. The website shows all the classes we've planned through October 2016, with a few 2017 classes. Classes coming up soon include:

ORLANDO, WHAT YOU SHOULD DO

EU-style gun laws did not prevent the Charlie Hebdo nor the Bataclan attacks in Paris. The only new gun law that would have prevented this tragedy is eliminating all "gun free" zones so that those willing to carry retain the fundamental right of self-defense everywhere.

The Orlando incident is yet another reminder that you should carry every day, everywhere you are legal to do so (at a minimum). It also serves as a reminder that there are places you may not be able to carry legally, in which case, having unarmed skills may be essential. It took more than 3 hours for medics to reach the wounded. Having medical skills, and carrying a tourniquet, should also be considered essential. Our two remaining June classes teach those essential skills.

JUNE 18: AT-5 - Tactics Laboratory

On June 18, Karl, Leslie Buck and Dave Reichek will teach a session of the newly redesigned AT-5: Tactics Laboratory class. That class has been updated to cover integrated gun/knife/unarmed material, similar to Craig Douglas' Extreme Close Quarters Concepts course, but in a lower intensity, shorter format. This class will be all force on force training, using Simunition, not airsoft. We will provide all training gear and guns used in class.

JUNE 25-26: Hardwired Tactical / Lone Star Medics Course

On June 25-26 we'll be hosting Darryl Bolke of Hardwired Tactical and Caleb Causey of Lone Star Medics for a 2 day Close Quarters Pistol/Tactical Medicine for Violent Encounters course.

The course will focus on gunfighting in the 2-7 yard zone, with emphasis on difficult shots and application of medic skills in urban, complex environments. Darryl Bolke has over 2 decades of law enforcement experience that includes multiple shootings and investigation of more than 75 shooting incidents involving others.

Summer Preparedness Conference

Paul Martin's Preparedness in the Suburbs Conference is June 25th at the Onion Creek Country Club. It will be a great, short (4 hour) introduction to individual preparedness.

Want to get started in prepping but feel overwhelmed at the process?  Afraid you’ll buy the wrong thing or use a bad strategy?  This is the preparedness conference for you!  In a half day, Paul Martin will jump start your preparedness efforts by cutting through the technical details and help you design a workable plan to get you prepared for most disasters.  This is a great course for a novice prepper and a good review for more experienced ones.  Get you and your family signed up today for this event, as space is limited.

Summer IPSC Matches

Due to popular demand we are bringing back the summer weekday evening IPSC matches. This year's matches will be on Wednesday evenings: June 22, July 6, July 27, August 3, August 17.

These events, with their small size and short duration, are perfect for those wanting to get started in competition.
