NRA Personal Protection In the Home Instructor Training
Course Description: This course certifies NRA instructors to teach the NRA Personal Protection In the Home class.
The NRA Personal Protection in the Home course specifically does not address concealed carry or use of firearms for self defense in public situations. It teaches content relevant to defensive use of a firearms in the home only.
Completion of this instructor training course is required to attend the Personal Protection Outside the Home instructor course.
Topics: safety, mental preparation, developing defensive shooting skills, strategies for home and personal safety, firearms, self-defense and the law, and selecting firearms, ammunition and accessories for personal protection.

Prerequisites: Instructor trainees must be certified NRA Pistol Instructors.
Required Equipment: a handgun and 150 rounds of ammunition, eye and ear protection. Two or more speedloaders or spare magazines (bring more if you have them). Single-shot handguns in rifle calibers and handguns in .44 magnum or larger calibers cannot be used for this course.
