Polite Society 2009

The 2009 "Polite Society" Tactical Conference was held the last weekend of April, 2009 at the US Shooting Academy in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This event, organized by Tom Givens of Rangemaster, is similar to law enforcement training conferences, but this event is open to private sector trainers and students as well as law enforcement and military personnel. It includes a live fire shooting competition and multiple training seminars on a variety of topics related to personal defense. In previous years the event was held at the Rangemaster facility and the Memphis Police Department academy, but the size of the event has continued to grow. Karl Rehn, Tom Hogel, and Justin Galindo represented KR Training at this year's conference.

The live fire stages were split between the shoot house and the many outdoor berms. The shoot house stage featured 3D reactive targets from DVC Targets. We brought back a couple of these targets for use in KR Training classes.

This year we ran scenarios around 3 cars positioned along a narrow road that ended in a flooded out berm, simulating a washed-out low water crossing. Michael Bane of the Outdoor Channel's Shooting Gallery show videotaped several scenarios, and we expect them to be a part of the episode(s) that cover the 2009 conference.
