Since 1991, KR Training has been offering affordable firearms and self-defense courses in Central Texas. Our two private training facilities are within an easy drive of a large part of Central Texas, including the Austin, Bastrop, Lockhart, Giddings and Bryan/College Station areas, and are a few hours from Houston, Waco and San Antonio. Our team of male and female instructors teach courses for all levels: beginners, average gun owners, CHL students, serious shooters, instructors and uniformed professionals.
Our CHL courses provide notary, classroom, range and lunch all in one session at one location, taught by a retired Austin PD instructor at his private training facility. Our non-CHL courses are taught by a diverse team of instructors with experience in firearms training, defensive skills, competition shooting, law enforcement, military service, martial arts, and risk assessment. We've been featured in media from the Outdoor Channel and BBC network to SWAT, Gun World and Concealed Carry magazines, as well as blogs like TheTruthAboutGuns and local radio & TV. Our shooting team members (instructors and alumni) regularly win local and regional IPSC and IDPA pistol and carbine matches. Many area instructors are graduates of our instructor development and advanced level courses.

What's New?
April 2013: Team KR Training scores well at the 2013 Space City Challenge: Roy Stedman, 3rd overall, 2nd GM Open. Tim Meyers, 3rd B Production, Zeb Pomerenke, 1st overall, Single Stack.
March 2013: The March 2013 e-news is now online, along with our summer schedule. The updated schedule includes the usual Basic Pistol and Defensive Pistol Skills courses, along with NRA Instructor Training, NRA Personal Protection Outside the Home, and a 2 day competition pistol course taught by IPSC and IDPA world champion Robert Vogel.

The KR Training team wins at the Polite Society Tactical Conference, with KR Training Shooting Team member Dave Reichek winning the match, and Karl coming in 3rd overall.
Due to dramatic increases in the cost of ammunition, tuition for Basic Pistol 1 and Basic Rifle 1 (where we provide ammunition for students) is increasing to $100.
