Defensive Pistol Skills 2
Course Description: This course provides additional instruction in the fundamentals of defensive handgunning similar to first-level courses taught at the major shooting academies. This course, when combined with Defensive Pistol Skills, provides the student with the same training as offered in our Advanced Training 1 class. The emphasis in DPS 2 is in application of skills learned in Defensive Pistol Skills, and learning additional skills such as reloading, malfunction clearing, and shooting from cover.
Topics: review of gun safety and defensive shooting fundamentals, drawing from concealment while moving to cover, reloads, malfunction clearing, shooting from awkward positions and other defensive handgunning skills.

Prerequisites: Completion of Defensive Pistol Skills or equivalent required.
Required Equipment: A centerfire handgun, belt holster, a minimum of 2 spare magazines or speedloaders, magazine/speedloader carriers, eye and ear protection, a baseball cap (to deflect spent brass and keep the sun out of your eyes) and a minimum of 200 rounds of ammunition.

Additional information: This course is intended to provide graduates of the Defensive Pistol Skills course a way to complete training equivalent to our AT-1 course.
